Private Mini-Ramp Lessons at SBC

Fall 2019

 

UnderToe is now offering private mini-ramp lessons at the SBC ramp.

This program is open to anyone, ages 5 years and older, who are interested in learning and or improving their transition skateboarding skills. Students should have some skateboard experience, but mini-ramp experience is not a requirement. The instructor will work within your ability level.

Youth SBC Indoor Ramp/Transition Skateboarding Lessons

Fall 2019

 

Our youth SBC program is back for two four week sessions. This season, we are offering the programs on Sundays.

This program focuses on transition skateboarding following our mini-ramp program. Students should have some transition skating experience, however students with strong flat ground experience will be accepted. Please contact us for an assessment, if you are unsure about the skill level.

Women's SBC Indoor Ramp/Transition Skateboarding Lessons

UnderToe now offers women only classes at SBC. We are offering two four week sessions that will be held on Sundays from 4pm to 6pm.

Roundhouse Indoor Skateboard Program

Fall 2019

 

Learn the fundamental skills to go from never having ridden a skateboard to safely rolling around. These indoor classes focus on foot placement, pushing, turning, stopping, safety, terminology, and basic tricks. Helmet and safety padding are mandatory for all participants (some equipment are available for loan). Participants are expected to have their own skateboard, with a limited number of skateboards available for use during lessons.

Mt. Pleasant Skate Park - July and August Programs
Beginner and Intermediate weekly programs

 Level I (Beginners) Program focuses on the fundamental skills to get a child from never having ridden before to safely rolling around. This fun packed set of 4 lessons will focus on key fundamentals such as foot placement, pushing, proper safety, terminology, skate park etiquette and basic tricks.

 

Level II(INTERMEDIATE ) focuses on tricks, ollies, kick flips and ramp tricks. Level II requires basic level of board control and ability (participants must be able to stand, balance on the skateboard and properly push) either through Level I completion or an assessment by Instructor.

Days: Monday to Thursday. Friday is the make-up day in case of rain.

Time: 9am to 10am

Location: Mount Pleasant Skate park, 3181 Ontario St., (closed to public during the lesson)

Ages: 8 to 13

Maximum number of students: 10

Number of instructors: 2

Safety equipment: Helmets are mandatory and need to be provided by the student (bike helmets OK). Padding is strongly recommended.

Skateboard: A limited number of skateboards will be on hand for use, but children should be ideally have their own skateboards. * Proper "trick" or "park style" skateboard is mandatory. No Penny or plastic "toy" skateboards, longboards, boards without proper grip tape , etc.

SBC mini-ramp program is back with a three lesson session starting on February the 22nd and ending just before spring break.

 

The sessions will focus on transition skateboarding following our mini-ramp program. Students should have some transition skating experience, however students with strong flat group experience will be accepted. Please contact us for an assessment, if you are unsure about the skill level.

We are offering a 10% discount for registration prior to February 15th.

Dates: Fridays 22, March 1 and 8

If your child is getting a skateboard for Christmas, then this is a great program for you. It is also great for any beginner that would like to skateboard indoors when it is wet and dark outside.
